I asked my boss for a raise and he said I was being let go. Is this a coincidence or is he simply firing me for requesting a raise? What are my options?
You didn’t ask? I would have asked am I being fired for requesting a raise in pay or is there another reason? I would appreciate the feedback if it is performance-related. If the environment is hostile and your boss tends to be unpredictable and irrational, it may be because you asked for a raise on a bad day. It is possible that your boss may have been on the fence about letting you go for a while and when you proposed a raise, they decided it was time to let you go.
Options? If you are in a right to work state, the company does not need a reason to let you go. If not, and they have not given you a reason, consult a labor attorney.
Sorry! Hope this helps!
