There are more than one way to stand out…the top ways to stand out would be preparedness for the interview (you would be surprised how many are not), part of that research is to maximize on anything you may have in common with the interviewer, no matter how small such as same school attended, they have children and you have children, from an area of the country or neighborhood, find that and its a big advantage in making them feel comfortable with you…the biggest fear of the interviewer is not knowing and what if I/we make a hiring mistake. Sometimes, finding one small thing in common can sometimes lead to bigger things in common. Another solid point…Asking the interviewer in the beginning what is the most important attribute or skill needed to be successful in this job…listen and give them examples of how you meet that need. Other than those points, being on time, dressing the part, cell phone off and your body language…sit up straight with good eye contact and being polite.

Hope that helps!
